Optical robot to sort grapes and waste after harvest
AN INNOVATIVE PROCESS FOR EASY AND EFFICIENT QUALITY MANAGEMENT
CITF partnered with JGC - wine-making equipment specialists - to develop a patented, automated grape sorting system. The aim was to cut costs and improve difficult working conditions with an efficient, easy to use system capable of improving wine quality.
ALIEN was born; This optical grape sorting robot removes material other than grapes (MOG) simply, efficiently and continuously.
HOW DOES ALIEN WORK?
Destemmed grapes land on the conveyor belt from a vibrating table. The camera detects MOG. Robot suck up MOG and drop them into a tray - all this in a continuous fashion.
HOW IS ALIEN OPERATED?
A simple touch UI to select programs and handle the general management of the device. Settings include removing all MOG, removing green berries and stems and removing pink berries and leaves.
WHY IS ALIEN DIFFERENT?
ALIEN is an optical grape sorting robot, providing a more precise, simpler and generally more efficient sorting.
